About Kelly Home Improvements

Do you install replacement windows?

Yes. Our team has completed window installation training, and we now measure, supply and install replacement windows. See our windows page.

How do I know when it’s time to replace my windows?

Common signs include drafts or cold spots near closed windows, fog or moisture between the panes, windows that stick or won’t lock, soft or rotting frames, and rising heating and cooling bills. If your windows are 20+ years old and showing any of these, it’s worth a free inspection. We’ll tell you honestly whether a repair will do or replacement makes sense.

Where do you work?

We’re based in Hagerstown and serve all of Maryland, South Central Pennsylvania (Franklin, Adams and Cumberland Counties) and the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia (Berkeley, Jefferson and Morgan Counties). See all our service areas.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. We hold Maryland MHIC #158920, Pennsylvania HIC #T002933 and West Virginia #WV066492, and we’re fully insured.

Do you give free estimates?

Yes. Every estimate is free, written and no-obligation. Call our office at (240) 818-4283 or request one online.

How much will my project cost?

It depends on the size of the job and the materials you choose. We give free written estimates after seeing your home in person, so you know the exact price before any work starts.

What are your office hours?

Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM, and Saturday by appointment.

Are you certified by any manufacturers?

Yes. We’re an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor, which means factory-certified installation and access to Owens Corning warranty options. We’re also BBB Accredited.

Roofing

Roof replacement & repair

Should I repair or replace my roof?

If the damage is limited and the rest of the roof is in good shape, a repair is usually the right call. If the roof is near the end of its life or leaking in several places, replacement often makes more sense. We’ll give you an honest recommendation either way. Learn more about roof repair and roof replacement.

What’s included in a roof replacement?

A full tear-off, inspection and repair of the wood decking, ice and water shield, underlayment, Owens Corning shingles, new flashing and proper ventilation, followed by cleanup and a walkthrough.

How long does a roof replacement take?

It depends on the size of the roof and the weather. We’ll give you a timeline with your estimate.

What warranty do I get?

As an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor, we can offer Owens Corning warranty options on qualifying roof systems. We’ll go over the options with your estimate.

Can you match my existing shingles?

We match as closely as possible. Older or discontinued shingles may not be an exact match, and we’ll tell you before any work starts.

How do I know if my roof is leaking?

Common signs include ceiling stains, peeling paint near the ceiling, damp attic insulation and a musty smell. Our guide on how to find a roof leak walks through it.

Storm Damage

Storm damage & insurance

Should I call my insurance company or a roofer first?

Many homeowners call us first for a free inspection, so they know whether there’s damage worth claiming before they file. If there is, we help you file.

Do you help with insurance claims?

Yes. We document the damage with photos, help you file, and can meet with your adjuster on site. See our storm damage page.

How do I know if I have hail damage?

Hail damage is often hard to see from the ground. Dents in gutters, downspouts or vents are a good clue. A free inspection is the surest way to know.

Will I have to pay for the repairs?

If your claim is approved, insurance typically covers the covered damage minus your deductible. Coverage depends on your policy, so we’ll help you understand what was approved.

What should I do if a tree falls on my house?

Get everyone to safety, stay away from downed power lines, and don’t climb on the roof. Then take photos and call your insurance company. Our step-by-step guide covers what to do when a tree falls on your roof.

Gutters, Siding & Windows

Gutters, siding & windows

What are seamless gutters?

Seamless gutters are formed in continuous lengths to fit your home, instead of being pieced together from short sections. Fewer seams means fewer places to leak. See our gutters page.

Do I need gutter guards?

If you have trees near the house or find yourself cleaning gutters often, guards can save you a lot of trouble. We’ll tell you honestly whether they make sense for your home.

Vinyl or fiber cement siding: which is better?

Vinyl costs less and needs very little maintenance. Fiber cement is heavier, very durable and can be painted. We’ll help you weigh them for your home and budget. See our siding page.

Can you do my roof, gutters, siding and windows together?

Yes. We handle roofing, gutters, siding and windows, so we can do your whole exterior as one project.
